Jayson Tatum led the scoring for the Celtics with 29 points, while Jaylen Brown added 28 and Kristaps Porzingis, returning from injury, contributed a vital 17 points.

The Mavericks struggled to keep pace with the Celtics' high-octane offense, with Luka Dončić scoring just 20 points on 7-of-23 shooting.

The Celtics have now won the first game of the series, and will look to take a 2-0 lead when Game 2 tips off on Sunday night.
